Muddied Waters is a 2012 television documentary that explores community concerns over the Federal Government’s Murray Darling Basin Plan through the stories of the people who live and work in the Basin communities. Throughout the documentary the director wanted a series of maps and graphs to illuminate and explain some complex issues that until now have been very hard to understand. We choose to use watercolour techniques to emulate the subject matter. All of the maps where hand painted, and then given a dark colour treatment to emulate the serious nature of the content being presented.
