Business SA is the peak Chamber of Commerce and Industry in South Australia and this year it turns 175. To help celebrate such an impressive milestone, we joined the team at 57 Films to design and animate sequences that would highlight 10 of the Chambers businesses that have made the most significant contributions to South Australia, these being Coopers Brewery, Bickford’s Cordials, Pirramimma Wines, Henschke Wines, Beerenberg, Haigh’s Chocolates, Rossi Boots, Michell Wool, Bank SA and The Advertiser.
Since most of the businesses are over 100 years old, we knew that finding the right archival footage was going to be a stretch. So we decided to create everything from scratch in a style that was colourful and engaging. It was a mammoth task to create over 6 minutes of hand generated artwork and then animate it. The screen dimensions where also a challenge. The projection company had created a mosaic of 20 different sized content screens for us to populate, which was no easy task with so many different ratios.
We got there in the end, and aided by some fantastic soundscapes created by Justin Astbury the content was very well received on the night. Here is a video of the night put together by 57 films – watch video
